Cinderella Retailtainment Event + DVD Viewing Party #DisneyPrincessWMT #CBias

cinderella viewing party dvd retailtainment walmart dvd bluray cbias

We have had Cinderella fever in our house this month! You know we were pretty excted about having friends over for a Cinderella party, but we were also really anxious to finally be able to pick up the Cinderella Diamond Edition DVD Combo Pack at Walmart. On Saturday, October 6th my little Emma and I headed over to our local Walmart for their Cinderella Retailtainment Event so we could purchase the DVD and do all the activities. I couldn't believe how fun it was! Emma got to meet the "real" Cinderella right there in the store! The folks at our Walmart were so nice and really went all out for the event. We got cupcakes and pumpkin decorating activity sheets as well as coloring sheets. They had a staff member taking pictures of all the kids with Cinderella and we were able to pick up a complimentary print of our picture in the photo department. We had a couple other things we needed to pick up that day, too, so going to Walmart for this was really convenient. They staff … [Read more...]

Disney Princess Royal Ball App + Cinderella Viewing Party #CinderellaWMT

CInderella, DVD, Bluray, Discount, Coupon, Walmart, Retailtainment Event, Royal Ball App, Augmented Reality, Princess App, Disney Princess, Princess, #CinderellaWMT, #CBias

My husband and I are movie lovers and we keep tabs on new and upcoming DVD releases. A few months ago we found out that Cinderella was coming out of the Disney Vault and onto Bluray and DVD again as a Diamond Edition and my husband asked me if I planned on picking it up. I asked him if he had taken a look at our Cinderella movie collection lately, because if he had he would have seen that we didn't need it - our Cinderella collection was more than complete. Or so I thought. Let me explain...    Earlier this week my girls and I downloaded a fun new app onto our iPads and iPhones called Disney Princess Royal Ball. It's free in the App store and it's got everything Disney Princess fans could want in an app - dress up, royal transportation, and a virtual ball. You can take pictures dressed up as a princess, and, my girls' favorite part, dance around the ballroom with a first-person point of view. I even got sucked into it, which then led to party planning of our own and a major … [Read more...]

A More Personal Way to Share Photos: Out My Window

I've been on Facebook for about 3 years now and there's been at least a dozen photos that I have really wanted to share with my friends and family on there, too, but haven't because they're more personal. Most importantly, as a new mom, I had super cute baby pictures, but sometimes my little baby's bum was showing and I really didn't want to broadcast that to all of Facebook and the internet! This is a perfect example of a photo that I would love to share with long distance family members, as long as I know it's safe to do so! Out My Window has been a great solution to this problem. I can upload all the cute baby pictures I want and make my photos available to view by invite only! Here's a peek at how the free and easy-to-use photo sharing site works: You can find out more about Out My Window and download it from the app store at http://bit.ly/Mx96k6! I have been hired by Warner Bros WBWord division to raise awareness for outmywindow™. For further disclosure, click here. … [Read more...]

Out My Window | A New, Safe Photo Sharing Site

out my window

I know a handful of moms that refuse to let pictures of their kids show up on Facebook. I appreciate their sense of protection over their children, but sometimes I would just love to see those cute little faces - especially the ones that belong to my extended family who are so far away and I don't get to see often enough. I also understand their concern over the privacy of their photos. With social networking privacy policies changing almost daily it seems, it's hard to know what is really safe and what has the probability of showing up on search engines who knows where. I'm really happy to have found OutMyWindow.com, a new and completely private photo sharing site. On Out My Window, you can upload photos of you and your family and literally pick and choose who you want to be able to see them. It's a great app that I downloaded onto my iPhone and iPad, and it was really easy to set up and put in photos. I really liked how tactically pleasing and modern it looked. Once I had my … [Read more...]

Get The Big Bang Theory Seasons 1 & 2 on Bluray Combo Pack Now!

I've been loving all the Comic-Con updates that I've been seeing on Facebook and the news sites, I keep telling my husband that someday I'm going to do that! I would need to bring a lot of money with me, though, because I'm sure to come across some collectible that I just have to have from who knows what show. There was an episode of The Big Bang Theory where Leonard and Sheldon had to have what they thought was a miniature replica of a time machine from their favorite 1960’s film, and nothing completes a geek collection like a time machine, right? So they bid on it, and won, only to find out it was a full-sized replica. I think if I could have any real, legitimate item from a movie, it would have to be the Auryn from The Neverending Story. What about you? Do you have a must-have item from your favorite tv show/movie/comic book? Well, if you said The Big Bang Theory on Blu-Ray, then you're in luck because not only is available, but it's affordable, too. You can pick up The Big … [Read more...]

The Big Bang Theory Complete First and Second Season on Blu-Ray Combo Pack

Big bang theory dvd blurry season 1 season 2

There are a lot of things to love about The Big Bang Theory, and one of them is Penny and Leonard's relationship. Complicated as it may be, I think Penny gave up on it a little too soon when she decided that she just wasn't smart enough to be with Leonard. I've got to say, I can sympathize a little with Penny. My husband is just now entering his third year of his PhD program and I've been able to keep up intellectually in our relationship, but there are certain circumstances where I get wide-eyed and wonder what in the heck is going on! I do all the proofreading on my husband's papers and there have been a handful of times that I've not been able to follow along with the topic because it is, what I like to call, "egghead" work. Luckily, I'm able to correct any punctuation or grammar, but when it came to content a couple of times I couldn't be of any help! Also, in our social circles, which for the most part involved other young families like ours with a spouse in the PhD program. … [Read more...]

Big Fish Games: Dora Saves the Crystal Kingdom | Review & Giveaway

Big-Fish-Games-Logo

How are you tackling summer boredom this season? Emma's been out of school for 2 1/2 weeks and I've been going through activities for her faster than I thought I would! While we try to keep our kids active, here in the summer heat of West Texas we do find times where it's necessary to stay inside (and times when I need a break!). Big Fish Games is a great online resource for computer activities and family games for my kids. Emma loves to play on the computer and I'm going to have her tell you all about her current favorite game, Dora Saves the Crystal Kingdom: Big Fish Games has a wide variety of games and activities for everyone in the family - from puzzles and word games for mom or dad to popular character and educational games for even the littlest of family members (my little 2 year-old Abby loves to "pretend" to play games on the computer). Because every child is different, and some games might be too tricky (or too easy), Big Fish Games has a great "try before you buy" … [Read more...]

Cuddly as a Bunny Picture Me | Review

Screen Shot 2012-05-06 at 7.48.54 PM

I'm always looking for fun apps for my kids, who are practically the new owners of my iPad. One of the ones we've been having fun with lately is Cuddly as a Bunny app for iPhone, iPod, or iPad, you can take new pictures or add photos from your library and it will place your children (or you or whoever the pictures are of) in adorable baby animal costumes. Dress up as a cuddly bunny, woolly lamb, frisky kitty, dalmation puppy and more! There are plenty of playful sounds and interactive objects on every page as you flip through the story and see recognizable faces (among standard characters) in each illustration. Abby as a frisky kitten! One of the neat things about this app is that you can have several pictures and as you go through the story they will utilize all of them, so I'm able to use pics of each person in our family, which is a lot of fun for my kids. A few of the other features include sharing favorite pages via email or saving to a photo library, you can also print any … [Read more...]

Check Out “The Awakening” – a new album from James Morrison!

James Morrison Logo

My husband is usually the one in the family that finds new-to-us music first, but I'm pretty pleased with myself for finding James Morrison and turning us on to his music. I'll admit I'm a sucker for british singer-songwriters, so when I first heard about him and his new album, "The Awakening," I was immediately interested, not to mention surprised I hadn't come across him before since he's been around for a while. When we were checking out his albums on iTunes we saw that he had worked with the likes of Jason Mraz and Nelly Frutado, too. He's a staple on our iPods now and I'm excited to help spread the word about him. James Morrison's first 2 albums “Undiscovered" and “Songs for You, Truths for Me” have sold a combined total of 4.5 million copies and yielded an astonishing 10 singles! “The Awakening” is a warm, live-sounding collection of classic but contemporary folk-soul songs. There are nods to Motown, gospel, country and even a hint of Latin, so his music is bound to appeal to … [Read more...]

Little Critter Collection 1 from Oceanhouse Media | Review

littlecritter

When I was little I was a big fan of the Little Critter books, and thankfully I was able to hold on to all my books to use with my kids, who absolutely adore Little Critter. While my kids love to read books, they also love to play on the iPad and iPhone, and I'm okay with that because I've found that Oceanhouse Media has recently released The Little Critter Collection #1 by Mercer Meyer for iOS, which you can download for $11.99 and receive a collection of 10 Little Critter books for your iPhone or iPad, which is a steal because individually they cost between $0.99 and $1.99 depending on the book. Some of our most favorite Little Critter books are included in the app, such as "I Was So Mad," "I Just Forgot," "All By Myself," and "Me, Too!" One of the other books included is new to us, it's called "The New Potty" and is about Little Critter's little sister learning to use the potty, which is perfect timing for my little 2 year-old because that's what we're working ferociously … [Read more...]

Disney Junior All Day, Every Day!

127292_131

We're big fans of Disney Junior in our house and we were pretty pleased to find out that instead of just a block of programming in the mornings on The Disney Channel, Disney Junior would be receiving it's very own channel this week! Beginning Friday, March 23rd, select cable and satellite providers will be launching the all-new 24-hour Disney Junior channel! Of course we're excited about our favorites "Jake and The Never Land Pirates" and "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse," but I'm really quite ecstatic that they'll be airing some of our old favorites, particularly Jo-Jo's Circus! In addition to current and returning favorites, there will be new programming for the channel as well. "Doc McStuffins," about a 6 year-old girl who can talk to her stuffed animals and toys and treat them in her backyard playhouse clinic, will be the newest addition to the Disney Junior repertoire. We've seen a preview of the show and it's really so cute! Also coming soon to the channel are two more new series, … [Read more...]

“Friends With Kids” Opening this week!

image002

Can you have it all? Is the grass always greener on the other side? Well past my single days, now into my child-rearing, domesticated days, I often think back and wonder if things had turned out differently would I be so content? Or would I just be content in a different way? Needless to say, I've been anxious for this movie to come out, and it's nearly time! I've enjoyed Jennifer Westfeldt's films in the past, and the cast for Friends With Benefits is amazing, so that builds my anticipation even more :) If you haven't yet heard about this film, check out the trailer and synopsis below. Let me know what you think! Jennifer Westfeldt wrote, directed, and stars in the romantic comedy Friends with Kids. She plays Julie, a Manhattanite whose biological clock is about to run out, so she convinces her longtime platonic best friend, Jason (Adam Scott) to father a child with her. They seem to have a much easier time juggling the responsibilities of new parenthood without the … [Read more...]

Who will you root for? The Pixie Hollow Games

Real Moms Love To Eat by Beth Aldrich

lovestoeat

I found this last year in my daughter's notebook. I mostly laughed about it! My husband and I have done a lot of talking lately about the foods we eat and where we could cut back or improve. We both want to make healthier, whole food choices more of the time, but succumb to ease a little more than we would like. We're unashamed that we like to eat and enjoy indulging every now and then. For a few weeks now I've been following Beth Aldrich's blog, RealMomsLoveToEat.com, and appreciate her approach to food: "There is absolutely nothing wrong with loving food; it’s the type of food you choose to love that is the problem." Her blog is a wealth of recipes, thoughts on food and eating, and general Aldrich is soon releasing a book based on her blog, it's called "Real Moms Love to Eat: How to Conduct a Love Affair with Food and Still Look Fabulous," and it will be available from Amazon in early January. Aldrich is a certified healthy lifestyle and nutrition expert, public speaker, and mom. … [Read more...]

Think switching to a natural deodorant is hard? Think again with Crystal Roll-On #CrystalRollOn #CBias

Crystal-Body-Deodorant-logo

For some time now I've been on a journey to reasonably transition my family into a more organic, natural lifestyle that includes healthy food choices, environmental choices, as well as cosmetic choices. One of the most important and recent choices I have made personally, is to ditch antiperspirant deodorants and exclusively use a natural deodorant. Until a few months ago, I thought the only natural deodorant choice out there was the Crystal Rock that could only be purchased in natural food stores. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that natural deodorant choices are all around us - and can be as convenient to purchase as shopping at your nearest Walmart! I'm excited to share my experience with a new natural deodorant, Crystal Roll-On, thanks to #CrystalRollOn and #CBias, and how I didn't even have to go out of my way to get it ;) But, first, I want to tell you some things that are a little personal, but I share them so that you will understand why I am so passionate about … [Read more...]
