Exergen TemporalScanner | Review & Giveaway

When my kids are sick, there’s no amount of time that seems quite as long as the minute it takes to take their temperature. Their fussy and don’t want to cooperate, I’m worried, it’s just a trying experience, especially when you want to know as soon as possible their temperature so you know what you’re dealing with! I’ve always marveled at the thermometers they use at the doctor’s offices – the one where they just swipe their forehead quickly and painlessly, and now I’m pleased to report that you can get that technology and convenience in the comfort of your own home with Exergen TemporalScanner.

The Exergen TemporalScanner is an infrared thermometer and you can get an accurate temperature reading in as little as two second. I’m used to using the electronic thermometers that you have to hold on your child’s temple for a minute, but this was so much quicker and painless to use. I just placed it on my daughter’s forehead, swiped to the side of her hairline, and I was in business. I got consistently accurate readings after trying it randomly on my family and I throughout a few different days.

One thing I really like about the Exergent TemporalScanner is that it feels heavy-duty. It’s not a little tiny thermometer, but it’s not too big that it’s inconvenient. It’s sturdy and big enough that you can get a good grip on it, it’s straightforward to use (you just press the button and swipe), and the temperature indicator screen is easy to read. It goes without saying that I also appreciate how quick it is to use, it’s something that can even be done without disturbing your child as they sleep!

At a suggested retail price of $50, the Exergen TemporalScanner is available at stores such as Walmart, Target, Babies R Us, Toys R Us, etc (it’s currently $32.35 on Amazon.com!). It runs on a 9v battery, and I believe that this thermometer has got longevity – I fully anticipate being able to use this for years to come, whereas with other, cheaper electronic thermometers I’ve found myself replacing them every couple of years.

If you’re like me and want to make your child’s illness as easy as possible on you and them, then I highly recommend the Exergen TemporalScanner. It’s amazing the difference a few seconds means versus the longest minute ever! I have been wanting to try this particular thermometer for awhile, especially now that my son is a little older (it’s on my wishlist for baby #2!)

Ugh, I have a feeling I’m going to have a child home with the flu in the next day or so. It’s going around, and today my son asked why he had a tickle in his throat. Wish us luck, but this may be something we need sooner rather than later! Our thermometers do NOT work properly.
