I am a sponsored blog partner with Pennington and participated in their Pennington Smart Feed Program, however, all opinions are my own. For further disclosure, see bottom of post.
If you recall, the last few weeks I have been getting my backyard container garden started with the help of Pennington Smart Feed Sprayer System. I wanted to show you around what I’ve been up to and how Pennington really gave my garden the boost that it needed! I’ve also got a great gift card giveaway below, so keep reading to find out how you can enter to win a $50 American Express Gift Card courtesy of Pennington!
As I’ve mentioned before, the climate here in West Texas is tricky. It’s very dry, water is very expensive, and it can be super hot during the day and ridiculously cold at night during the spring. In the summer it’s just plain hot, hot, hot all day and night. It doesn’t make for a good gardening environment, so I do what I can with container gardening. I use a few square foot containers, a handful of herb planters, a climbing vegetable planter, and two hanging planters to plant various fruits, vegetables, and herbs. It’s worked out really well because I can monitor the plants, move them as needed, and conserve water while doing so. And trust me, I had to bring them all in twice these last two weeks because of frost… *sigh*
I planted snow peas, cucumbers, and bell peppers in a container that allows them to grow “up,” and as you can see they’re doing excellent. I’ve seen such a progress with them in the last two weeks, I’m actually quite excited about it!
This is the first year I’ve employed the “as seen on TV” hanging planters for tomatoes and strawberries. I wanted to save space and grow as much as I could, so I thought this would be a great experiment. So far so good, I think!

These photos, though, show the plants I am most proud of. Started as just seeds, I was waiting and waiting for them to sprout, and it wasn’t until quite literally the day after I used Pennington Smart Feed Sparyer System with the Tomato & Vegetable formula of fertilizer that I saw sprouts – they were hardy and bright! Spinach, squash, basil, and snow peas all are making such good progress since using Pennington when I watered them.
The Pennington Smart Feed Sprayer System is so easy to use. There’s no measuring, no mixing, it’s a simple as loading the pre-measured fertilizer tablet into the sprayer system and letting your hose do all the work :) By adding the uniquely customized fertilizer tablets you are able to provide the exact amount of nutrients needed for flowers and plants. The three fertilizer formulas available are created to benefit various growing environments (even my little container garden!), plant types, and applications: All-Purpose; Tomato & Vegetable; and Flowers & Blooms. The four-way, adjustable sprayer – which easily attaches to a standard garden hose – simplifies plant feeding and ensures proper nutrition and vigorous plant growth. There’s even a clever “Drain” setting on the sprayer so that when you’re done you can drain the remaining water out of the unit.
You can find Pennington Smart Feed Sprayer System products at national retailers, including Walmart and Lowe’s, ranging in price from $9.99 to $12.99. Be sure to follow Pennington Seed on Facebook and Twitter to stay up-to-date on the latest products, promotions, and tips on keeping your garden growing all year long!
Now it’s your turn to get a big boost your garden, however it may grow! I’m giving away a $50 American Express Gift Card to one lucky reader, which will allow them to pick up the Pennington Smart Feed Sprayer System, plus all three fertilizer formulas!
