Rockin’ Green Soap | Review & Giveaway

Rockin' Green Logo

We have the hardest water I’ve ever known here in West Texas, which doesn’t fare well for someone like me who tries to keep household cleaning and upkeep as natural as possible. Conversations of fighting the good fight while not utilizing chemical warfare are not uncommon in my circle, and I’m friends with quite a few cloth-diapering mamas online who deal with this very subject. One of the products that kept popping up in conversations was Rockin’ Green detergent. Known for their ability to tough through hard water, soap residue, and yet maintain an eco-friendly status, aware-winning Rockin’ Green has so many options for household needs, mine included.

Rockin' Green Soap

Of course, my biggest concern is getting nice, clean laundry and dishes despite our severely hard water. I don’t know if you’ve had the pleasure of experiencing truly hard water, but whites are never really white anymore, no matter how hard you try. Clothes fade a lot faster. Stains set in a lot easier. It’s ridiculous. Rockin’ Green Soap has general laundry detergent formulas in three levels of attack – Soft Rock, Classic Rock, and Hard Rock – depending on what you need. If I wasn’t sure before, I knew for sure after using the following diagram on what formula of Rockin’ Green would work for us – Hard Rock.

The nice thing, though, about Rockin’ Green is that one soap will work for everyone’s clothes, even the ones that you want to be the most gentle with, like babies’. The detergent is powdery and awesome-smelling. My Rockin’ Green scent of choice was Lavender Mint, but there are a number of other varieties, including Smashing Watermelons, Rage Against the Raspberry, Mötley Cleän, Earth, Wind & Orchids, and Bare Naked Babies.

I really loved how it worked on our laundry. I’ll be honest, even though it says it’s okay to use on baby clothes, I was a little concerned when I used it on my kids’ laundry. Being so tough I thought I might notice fading or residue. The clothes came out looking great, feeling great (yay!), and smelling fantastic!

Rockin' Green Family of products

Rockin’ Green has a growing line of household cleaning products, beyond just laundry detergent. They’ve got a formula for every need, such as laundry enhancers like Shake It Up or Funk Rock, a formula for women who use eco-friendly feminine hygiene products (Femme Rock), a newly introduced detergent specifically created for pet laundry and toys, as well as Melody, their room freshener. Now that I know how well their laundry detergent works on our hard water, I’m particularly looking forward to trying Rockin’ Green’s Auto Dish Detergent!

Based on the map, I’d choose soft rock for my area and I’d choose the motley clean scent. I’m really interested in this detergent, I’m trying to go more green with my household products. I have yet to be satisfied with the green detergents that I have tried so I’m interested in trying this one as it sounds really good.

I’m pretty interested in this – good post and interesting map! I have switched to Borax and powder detergents, but I wanted something more green and less harsh. I’ll be looking further into the product – thanks!!

I would like to try the Classic Rock in Lavendar Mint Revival. This is for my daughter who used cloth diapers for her baby girl.
